Ok, my strategy when it comes to famous people is: if they're rude, give them a second chance. Everybody is entitled to a bad day now and then, especially people with stressful lives.

Konagirl, I have lived here on Oahu almost 13yrs and know tons of people from all walks of life, and I have never heard ANYone say that they don't watch the show cuz of how it shows haoles/whites. I do know some locals detest the show cuz of how it shows locals, and it is only the occasional haole that Duane and co. arrest.
That show shows the TRUTH about the islands, and locals hate it being on national tv for pure ego reasons, and cuz this state's main source of income is tourism. There are also locals that detest the show cuz they hate haoles to begin with and they salivate hate at seeing a haole boy having POWER over locals, and rightfully so when it happens.
Beth is human, and think back to the first season, and the change. I don't see how anyone that watches regularly could have failed to see the obvious CHANGE in how Beth carried herself, acting and reacting in the second and since then, from the first. I suspect as she saw herself in the first season she was embarassed and softened, and stopped trying to act super badass. Everyone in our family, young and old noticed Beth was very different in the second season, and it was a welcome change.
I don't know how I would act in Beth's situation, but since I'm no pushover, and if I was under the stress she is, and dealing with people I had given MONEY to then trying to cheat me out of that money, I bet I'd be tempted to act as she has at times.
Beth rocks, and I know this cuz Duane is the most dynamic, with the heart, compassion, manners and faith in their family, and since he chose her as a mate, I know there's much good about Beth that even we can't see, and she has probably been so very hurt herself, in her life that she comes off rougher than need be at times.

Actually.... 'Beth' only has 4 children total. 2 girls and 2 boys... you only see 3 of the children on the show... one has just recently come back into her life but as far as i've heard will not be present on the show. He is however in several pictures from when Duane was recently arrested and released. only one of the girls and one of the boys are Duanes

I saw a picture of Beth last night on the TMZ website and she looks fantastic! She's definitely lost a lot of weight and it really shows. Personally I think Beth always looks great and I like her style. I haven't heard or read anywhere how she lost all the weight. I don't know if she had gastric bypass surgery or if she did it with diet and exercise.
