Several fans, including myself, have written to Governor Lingle to try and rally support for Dog. The following is the email she sent back to all who sent her emails:
Aloha,Thank you for taking the time to write and provide your input on the situation involving Duane Chapman. Please be informed that we do not have any authority over the actions of the U.S. Attorney's office, the agency that is involved in this matter, and would suggest that you contact them directly with your concerns.
Mahalo, Office of Governor Linda Lingle
I belive that even though she does not have direct authority she does have political pull and should stand up and voice her opinion on the situation. In response, I have sent her the following reply via email:
Governor Lingle,
You may not have direct authority, but you do have political pull. What are you doing to keep him here in the U.S.? Why aren't you speaking out about this?
Stop passing the buck. If his fans are making phone calls and sending emails why aren't you on the phone too? Or do you not care about Dog and his associates?
It's a shame that you've turned your back on him after all he has done to help Hawaii. No wonder he feels betrayed.
Sincerely,
XXX
I hope she does take a stand and support Dog, Tim and Leland in public.

I agree. I don't know when re-election time is in the state of hawaii. but she might want to think twice about not doing anything or come election time she might find herself standing on the outside looking in. mmmm she might need to be reminded of this or did she forget that she works for the people of hawaii. or did i miss something here?

Lingle is otherwise a dang good governor and she should indeed be ashamed. Even moreso, Rep. Ed Case, member of the US House of Reps...should be ashamed!! dig this....I have emailed with him and gotten replies twice. He wrote the US marshals and then sent me a copy of the letter, then later a copy of their reply, but he could do more, and then....... Rep. Tancredo from Colorado authored a letter to Condi Rice's office, and 28 other members of the House signed on to it, but did Ed Case??? hell no, and it was all Republicans that signed on. Ed Case is a Democrat and he wouldn't, even after me asking him to contact Tancredo, and I asked weeks before this letter!! I asked him to team up with Tancredo and whomever else would fight with them, and.........to not only contact Condi, but to call for an official investigation as to why in the hell this is happening to Chapman and Co! But NOOOOOOO, partisan politics were apparently.......more important. HERE is a copy of this wonderful letter, and then I'll post the link to the list of who IS fighting for Dog and Co. tancredo.house.gov/Media/File/Rice%20Chapman%20Letter(1).pdf
